Out of all my nikes I have I finally have my own pair. A year ago I ordered these off Nike By You so my little domface dude could ride the swoosh. Air Max 1s are an ultimate walking shoe (not a spot performance shoe) but the heel embroidery was what really sold me on buying these very comfortable sneakers. Over the year of saving up money for the next step of the project I kept coming up with tweaks and details I could add to it that would still be design choices of Nike. The embroidered domface dude was core to developing this shoe, the insole I printed with the international seal of dom, there’s a toe swoosh that I screen printed onto the shoe by hand (toe swooshes only reserved for the most rare AM1s), and I got lace locks so I’ll never even have to tie them. As the process for just the shoe itself came together I was also thinking about how this would release in a shop. I would absolutely sell a sweatshirt and a hat along with the exclusive shoe. The Nike id box doesn’t feel like a product for the shelves so I changed that by getting my hands on a retail air max 1 box and printed a tweak on every single panel of the box. The finishing touches were black tissue paper, the inspirational quote hand out with a sticker sheet of all the graphics over the year, and adding the two accessories, the coffee cup for the kids in the line and the sweat towel for cleanliness.

This was the first day I wore the shoes. Catch me at the train tracks in head to toe custom Nike, throwing rocks at trains.
